Im a little obsessed with finding the perfect medallion choker chain.  It has to be short in length, preferably gold, and heavy, or very masculine-looking.  I think its a great way to give a white tee a polished but off-kilter look.  I feel the medallion should have some symbolism or meaning behind it.  SuperSexy! The Vienna Secession Art Movement

Gustav Klimt
Alphonse Mucha
Emile Galle
The Vienna Secession was formed by a group of Austrian artists who broke away from the Association of Austrian Artists in 1897.  This group consisted of artists, sculptors, and architects who strove to explore the possibilities of art outside the confines of the academic curriculum, create a style that owed nothing to historical influence, and capture the zeitgiest of turn-of-the-century Vienna.  The Vienna Secessionist showcased much of their work in a magazine that they produced called Var Sacrum.  The Vienna Secession was known in other languages and cultures as Art Nouveua in France; Jugendstil in Germany; Modern in Russia; and Stile Liberty in Italy.  The movement was inspired by natural forms and structures, and curved lines.

I'm obsessed with finding the perfect printed tank.  It has to be perfectly distressed, form-fitting but loose, scoop-neck and scooped hemline.  The back should be longer than the front but the tank covers your hips.  Whew!! Specific, I know...but a girl wants what she wants....

Latin Lush!

Lluis Barba is set to enjoy the spotlight of a solo exhibition at this year’s Pinta show. The Barcelona based artist will be the Cynthia Corbett Gallery’s sole presentation at the Earls Court show in London, which focuses on the art of Latin American culture. Though Catalan, Barba is included as part of a celebration of Spain and Portugal’s influence on Latin America. Barba’s photographic montages are remakes of classical themes and each recreates classical scenes by painters, from Hieronymous Bosch or Pieter Brueghal to Raphael and more modern painters like Magritte. Barba populates his scenes with modern day personalities from socialites to film stars, artists and of course fashion designers. Karl Lagerfeld is a regular reference point, appearing in his remake of Pierre Subleyras’ The Studio of the Painter, Project of the Great Adequacy of the Great Gallery of the Louvre by Hubert Robert and Raphael’s Marriage of the Virgin. He uses digital technology to integrate color photography of contemporary personalities into the black and white or grayscaled paintings. Visitors can also expect to pick out the likes of Kate Moss, Paris Hilton, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie as well as Jay Jopling, Brad Pitt and more. The Pinta show takes place from June 7 to 10 in London and November 8 to 11 in New York. www.thecynthiacorbettgallery.com

Julien Palast at LeDouze - Paris

Ad agency LeDouze is hosting the photographic works of Julien Palast’s series Skin Deep in Paris offices. The images are glossy representations of bodies set in bas relief by shiny, shrink-wrapped latex. The photos are set against a colorway of glossy purple, blue, pink and orange shades with the latex pulled tight across them.  The purpose is to unveil bodies as objects, be they male or female.  The images are erotic in nature and exotic in color.  I find the detail highlighted by the latex revealingly restrained.
